Burgas Airport is situated on the Southern Black Sea coast, between the city center of Burgas and the tourism resort of Sunny Beach.

In the end of 2013, Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD (German-Bulgarian concessionaire of Varna Airport and Burgas Airport for 35 years) inaugurated a new modern passenger terminal at Burgas Airport. The new terminal has modern systems for passengers and baggage handling, spacious areas for arriving and departing passengers, attractive commercial zones, as well as comfortable open spaces. The terminal, work of world renowned designers, combines contemporary style with traditional elements of Bulgarian architecture and nature. Also aims to keep the holiday mood of the passengers throughout their whole stay at the airport.
